What set May off differently this time? Why was this sadness different then all the rest? Do you think that August or June could have prevented the death from occurring? August had the feeling something was wrong but waited to long to react. Why wouldn't someone accompany her to the wall, make sure she is okay? I know that if someone was really upset then and seemed like they had the capability of killing themselves, I would not leave them alone at a time of sadness. What do you all think?
Think the thing that drove may over the edge to kill herself was the injustice of it all. The injustice of the treatment of African Americans is what drove April to kill herself, and I think May is baffled by the fact that this stuff still goes on even after it caused her sister to take her life.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that the sisters could've done anything because they saw it coming and tried to help her so many times. I think that if they would've been able to save her that time, there still would've been another time where she felt like she wanted to commit suicide.
