Tiburon and the Boatwrights
Lily doesn't have a mom, so Rosaleen is the mother in her life. Then Lily goes to Tiburon where she is surrounded by other females. Now that she is receiving more attention, from the Boatwrights, how do you think this will affect her development?
How do these women receive Lily? Also, now that we have met August, do we still think that Rosaleen is the "mother" figure for Lily? How can we categorize Rosaleen and August in Lily's life?
ReplyDeleteAugust takes in Lily with great care. Now, I believe that August has become the mother figure in Lily's life, rather than Rosaleen. In chapter 4, Lily sort of gores against Rosaleen, saying that she can't mess this up, and to keep their secret. Instead of loving Rosaleen, Lily protects her relationship with August and asks Rosaleen to not be rude or say the truth. Also, with AUgust now in her life, I think that Lily will have a better development, being exposed to work and well mannered people.
