I don't know about you, but I though it was kind of weird how June was so opposed to marrying Neil for so long. I understand that she values her freedom, but you can tell that she and Neil love each other so much. August says that part of the reason Deborah was so depressed was because she was "married to a man she really didn't want to be married to."(253). We know that June spent time with Deborah after she ran away from T Ray.
Do you think seeing Deborah's experience with marriage is one of the reasons why June won't marry Neil for so long?
