I was mulling over the though of Zach changing, how he seemed much more angry at the world now and how that is kinda sad. He even admits, "sometimes, Lily, I'm so angry I wanna kill something." What do people think of the fact that Zach is changing or has changed, does anyone feel sad that we may be losing Zach and the part Lily likes?
Zach has definitely changed since he has been to prison. He saw the truth behind people and what happens with discrimination. However, I do not think that we are losing him to his pain and/or sadness. Lily and him are still connected and together in a way, and I feel it will stay that way.
ReplyDeleteWatching anyone, whether a fictional character or a real person, change and become jaded because of the cruelty of the real world is emotional. Zach's anger and how it affects him reminds me of the loss of innocence of Ralph on the island. A untainted young kid changed but the real cruelty of the world.
