Has any one else noticed that when August was on the porch talking, she doesn't agree to kick Lily out of the house. Why is August being so nice to lily when she already knows she is telling lies? Maybe August knows her mother, but she is so mysterious in that chapter.
I feel like she doesn't know her mother but that she wants to do the right thing and help
